thankful

As I reach a time of taking stock, I'm thinking about one narrow thing: how thankful I am that my wife has never considered my music career as a mistress. 

She never once has begrudged a dollar I've spent on the tools of my trade.   She never once has punished me for a gig that takes me away from her for hours.   This all sounds like it shouldn't be remarkable or unusual for a loving wife, but I'm telling you, from what I've seen, it's rare.
