my stairway to stairway

I first heard "Stairway to Heaven" when I played it. I'd never heard the recording.

Our piano teacher would give us special gifts at the end of the year, one of which was a subscription to "Sheet Music" magazine. One fine summer day, I opened it up and saw "Stairway to Heaven," arranged for piano, with lyrics. 

So I read through it. It was probably years before I heard the original recording.

I still conceptualize the song the way I played it that summer.
