golden ages

I was sitting around with a bunch of church guys — the oldest was in his upper 60s, the youngest in his early 20s, and all in between. 

We got onto the topic of Saturday Night Live, and the inevitable discussion happened: when were their best years? 

The usual claims bandied about: the original cast! The late 80s, with Eddie Murphy! The Mike Myers years! The Jimmy Fallon/Tina Fey years! etc. 

Then I sat back and realized: every single one of the guys located the show's golden era when *he* was 14. Every single one.
