extra, extra
just read a great quote from a Christian man about (naturally) how Christian women should dress and look:
What amuses me is that subtle little "extra" in there. Hardly noticeable; just flies right by. What it means is that we can rail against pierced nose cartilage but not pierced ear cartilage, because piercing ear cartilage is normal and natural and right, whereas piercing anything else is "extra."
People will do anything, go to any acrobatic reading of scripture or science or news, to confirm their own biases.
